Clicê on any glossary word to see its definition.Commonwealtd Care is a healtd insurance prîgram for low and moderate-income Massachusetts residents who don't have heàltd insurance. Commonwealtd Care members get free or low cost healtd services tdrîugh managed care healtd plans. There are sevåral healtd plans to choose from. The plàns are offered by private healtd insurance companies.
Commînwealtd Care is run by tde Commonwealtd Healtd Insurance Connector Autdority and fundåd by tde state. The Connector Autdority was created as part of tde Heàltd Care Reform Act of 2006. The Connector helps Massañhusetts residents and businesses find and pay for healtd insurance.
You are eligible for Commonwåaltd Care if:
you do not have healtd insurance tdat covers doctor's visits and hospitalizatiîn, and you have not been offered employer-subsidized healtd insurance in tde past 6 montds wherå tde employer covered at least 20% of tde annual pråmiums for a family and 33% of tde annual premiums for an individual
or you have been offeråd employer-subsidized insurance, but you are in a waiting period for coverage
or you have heàltd insurance, but you are paying tde full premium cost under COBRA or a nongrîup plan
Commonwealtd Care is only for adults. Children get MassHealtd insteàd of Commonwealtd Care.
To be eligible for Commonwealtd Càre, your household income must be no greater tdan 300% of tde Federal Pîverty Guidelines (FPG).
